A CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC INTRODUCTION TO GRANADA

With a total of 150 hours divided into 5 different modules, this course is awarded 6 credits by the University of Granada. It is especially aimed at incoming Erasmus students and people with specific interests in the field of tourism.

The classes involve live teaching with a schedule adapted to different time zones to make it easier for the students to follow from their countries of origin.

In addition, the course combines full group classes with sessions in pairs and self-study, thus focusing on the learning and progress of each student.

The teaching methods used in class focus on integrating skills to reach the level of linguistic competence described in the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) levels in accordance with the Centro de Lenguas Modernas’ study program.

Classes will be taught from our online platform where the student will have access to materials, resources and activities all designed for comprehensive language acquisition.

Getting to know Granada: 20 hours

  • Dates: October 1-30
  • Videos recorded by the teacher: 4 10-minute videos
  • Live classes: 4 hours, (October 1, 6, 8 and 13. 1 hour a day)
  • Self-study: 16.5 hours

Spanish: 40 hours

  • Dates: October 5 – November 23
  • Live classes: 30 hours (4 hours a week)
  • Classes in pairs: 5 hours (1 hour a week)
  • Self-study: 5 hours

Spanish and Andalusian culture: 30 hours

  • Dates: November 9-20
  • Inverted class*: 4 videos
  • Live classes: 8 hours (November 9, 11, 13, 16 and 18) 1,5 hours + 2 hours
  • Self-study: 20 hours
  • Project submission deadline: November 30

Cross-cultural development: 30 hours

  • Dates: November 23 – December 4

The online level test (PNO) has a written part which takes place on the CLM Virtual Platform and an oral part via videoconference.

Once the student is enrolled in the PNO, they will receive an email with login details to access the written test and information about the oral test.

Students can start the test when they like but, once they have started, they have to complete it within 24 hours.

Once the written test has been completed, the students will receive an email with the date and time of the oral test via Skype, Zoom or Meet.

Online level test dates

  • Written test: Between September 28 and October 2
  • Oral: Between September 28 and October 2 (videoconference on day and time to be confirmed by the teacher)
